The 37th Annual Model Railway & Models Exhibition in 2012 again attracted hundreds of visitors to Warminster to see 32 exhibits and trade stands, model railways Z to O, engineering, live steam, DCC and other transport exhibits. A free vintage bus ferried visitors from the centre of Warminster out to the Warminster Sports Centre, where the exhibition has been held for the past two years.
The oldest exhibit was of a circa 1910 London and North Western Experimental Class, supplied by Carson & Co, which when new, at fifteen guineas, cost the equivalent of a working man's wages for a year! When it is refurbished, it is expected to be worth around £3,500.
Funds raised from the exhibition always go to support children and animal charities, this year's recipients will be: Great Ormond Street Hospital; Mayhew Animal Home; Blue Cross Animal Trust; and Save The Children.
