Warminster Web is a community website, not a business, with various contributors, designed to provide news and events for people living in, and visiting Warminster. As at October 2011 it had a regular readership in excess of 6,000 households.

Warminster Web's volunteer editor is a local man (me) who has a deep belief that none of us need be useless whilst we are still breathing, but who having lost almost all of a disc in his back (careless!), and damaged others, has to spend most of his time horizontal, just leaving his laptop occasionally to visit and photograph the real world, so more time available to spend on Warminster Web! Though retired my professional background was in social care (disturbed children/youth, substance abuse, and autism); the overseas leisure industry; property, and development consultancy. Whilst occasionally making a political comment I don't care what colour of party represents us locally, I look at the person. I am happily married and we share our home with my widowed elderly mother-in-law and a Jack Russell. Pet hates are: people who leave their dogs mess or rubbish/graffiti; people who just take and don't give back to society ("Be the change you want to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi); and politicians who don't remember that they are elected to represent the people, not themselves.

Back Sufferer?... If you also have a dodgy back then you might like to try Biofreeze, Movelat (prescription), or a TENS or TSE unit for pain relief (I use all four). Floors are great for sleeping on (you'll save a fortune on beds and will never fall out) and I recommend zero gravity recliners/sun loungers for staying able to use a computer. When it comes to surgery Mr Chapple at Salisbury District Hospital has my gratitude for doing his best for me (he has given me a Wallace Ligament Implant, shaved bone off my spine, and given me facet joint injections), and if, unlike me, your back hasn't deteriorated too far then Mr Boeree at Southampton General Hospital is one of the world's foremost disc replacement surgeons. Good luck.
